About Captain Jack

Captain Jack Baker is an experienced fisherman and boat captain in the Lake Gaston area. 

Captain Jack has over 45 years of fishing experience of which 25 of those years have been spent in competitive fishing. This allows guests aboard his vessels to experience a safe, fun, and enjoyable experience boating and fishing around Lake Gaston. 

Captain Jack is also United States Coast Guard OUPV (Charterboat Captain) licensed. 

Our Vessels

Sun Tracker 24

The Sun Tracker 24 is a 2016 pontoon style boat with a 150hp Mercury engine. It is 24 feet in length. It can hold up to 12 people, although only 6 guests are permitted which means you will have plenty of room to move about. 

Skeeter ZXR21

The Skeeter ZXR21 is a 2022 flats-style fishing boat. It is 21 feet in length and has a 250hp Yamaha engine. It can hold up to 3 additional passangers and is perfect for fishing in and around Lake Gaston.

What do we need to bring with us?

Life jackets are required for any person(s) under the age of 13 and anyone who cannot swim.

Otherwise, sunscreen, sunhats, sunshirts, bathing suits, towels, and any other water items you may want are welcome.

Fishing poles, bait, and lifejackets are provided.

There are no bathrooms available on either boat.

How many people can the boat hold?

For lake excursions, sunset cruises, and sunrise cruises, you will be on Captain Jack’s Sun Tracker pontoon. This boat can hold up to 12 people, but only 6 are allowed for each trip allowing you to have plenty of room while you are with us.

During fishing trips, you will be on our Skeeter ZXR21 boat. This boat holds up to 3 additional people.

Are food and drink allowed?

Food and drink are allowed during your charter on Lake Gaston. Alcohol is allowed in moderation.

What is your reservation policy?

Reservations require a $50 deposit. 

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation is required 48 hours prior to trip date to secure a refund. No refunds will be issued if trip is less than 48 hours away. 

Where do we meet for the charter?

Pickup location is dependent on YOUR location! We will discuss where the best spot to meet you might be, and Captain Jack will pick you up there. 

What other policies and procedures do we need to know about?

All passengers must sign a liability waiver prior to departure. If anyone in your party is under 18, a parent or guardian will need to sign this waiver.

At least one adult, 18 years or older, must book the trip and be present for the entire length of the trip.

All passengers 13 years and younger, or those that cannot swim, must wear a life jacket at all times.
